Dr. Tara Foster, DACM, L.Ac., is a Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine and a Licensed Acupuncturist with a private practice based in Woodacre. As a dedicated practitioner and community advocate. Her background includes nearly two decades in Northern California, she is originally from Northern Michigan and moved to Humboldt County in 2009. She later started living part time in the Bay Area in 2015 to attend medical school at the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco.

Throughout her clinical training and regional travels, she observed firsthand how housing instability and economic inequality directly impact physical and mental health. This experience instilled in her a lifelong passion for community equality and health justice. In her current practice, she provides sliding-scale care to ensure accessible acupuncture for individuals facing housing and food insecurities. Beyond direct patient care, she is a passionate advocate for housing as a fundamental component of public health, emphasizing the necessity of safe, clean, and affordable homes equipped with essential amenities like full working kitchens and reliable heating. She resides in Woodacre with her dog, where she operates her practice on property rented from very awesome local community members.
